boldly go BEYOND where no man has gone before!

Kirk is a bad-ass.

Spock is awesome.

UHURA IS HOT!

Star Trek is beautiful.

J.J. Abrams has done it again! Energizing new blood into this flick for a whole new generation, while staying true to the fans that have grown over the generations loyal and devoted to this beloved series is, as Scotty put it in the movie, "like hitting a bullet, with a smaller bullet, whilst blindfolded, riding a horse."

But Abrams has done. HE HAD DONE EET!!!

Friends and deviants, this movie is beautiful. Incredible. Simply well done. There are nuances all over the flick that are shout-outs to the fans of the original series, while the narrative is tight and so well done that the casual moviegoing public won't get lost in a sea of technobabble and science jargon while following the plot. The cast is an amazing ensemble, and all their storylines and relationships are handled masterfully by great writing at the hands of who I deem to be Hollywood's great new power-writing team, Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci. At the helm is geek-god J.J. Abrams, slickly polishing this series with incredible effects, spectacular space battles, and so much oomph and grandeur. This may be an origin story, a prequel, or a backstory, but it is one of the best damed pulled-off backstories in cinematic history. It trounces Origins: Wolverine in the face. Go snikt yourself in the ass, Wolvie; I'll see you adamantium claws and raise you a warp engine full of dylithium crystals and a full bank of photon torpedoes!

Watch it, watch it, watch it. You don't have to be a Trekkie, geek, or whatever to not be able to enjoy this film. It is lush, beautiful, a popcorn extravaganza juiced up by loving creators, hand-delivered on a silver plat for an intelligent, but entertainment-seeking moviegoing audience. This is simply incredible.

To boldly go where no man has gone before.

Very encouraging, as my friends and I are planning on seeing it come next week!

Aw man, I had SO MUCH FUN at that movie...! :iconiloveitplz:

I mean, it's been so long since I really can say I had fun at a movie. Good or bad, it seems like a lot of remakes like this one are so full of themselves and have an overblown legacy behind them that they have to... Eh, I don't know. That's kind of what I was expecting.

But good grief, everything about this movie was amazing! Ditto, ditto, ditto, ditto!

It really, honestly, felt like the original star trek, without resorting to just being the original star trek. <3

I'm planning to see it tomorrow. I'm a veteran Star Trek geek, but even mainstream moviegoers are gonna love it.

For every action there is an equal and opposite government program.

And Zachary Quinto as Spock was AMAZING.
I asked my friend, who hadn't really known much about Star Trek, what she thought about him. She laughed and said, "Spock's not suppossed to be that hot."

Of course, I was already hot for Spock.

Hmmm. You know, I never even got into the Original Series all that much (I'm afraid I was a TNG girl from way back), but I've heard nothing but good reviews about this movie, and encouragement that you don't actually have to be a hardcore Original Series fan to enjoy it.

Maybe I'll forgo Chinese takeout this week and take in a movie, instead!
