What have I been up to?

Tue Jun 16, 2009, 4:22 AM
Real life is what. I've not been very active here at all, and my last deviation was submitted, I guess, over two months ago?

For my watchers who've been wondering where I've gone, don't worry, I'm still around. I just go on to read journals and check deviations, but not so much on the art uploading aspect. I've obligations to myself and my career I've been taking care of :)

If you want to see what I've been up to these past few months (and if you want to read some articles), take a look. I've been writing for one of our newspapers here, the Inquirer. Thank goodness I'm still able to write. Drawing over and over just gets tiresome; with me, I feel like I have to cycle those two over every now and then. Too much drawing, start writing. Too much writing, start drawing. Too much of both, start juggling monkeys and chainsaws while unicycling on a high wire over a boiling pit of spikes and lava.

I've been pimping my art on this site for over three years, I might as well start pimping my writing!

I've written stories on scary-ass website Hotel 626,
Lady Gaga's CD, a Street Fighter IV tournament, the bazillions of brands of frozen yogurt in the Philippines, and even the Harlem Globetrotters to name a few. So indulge me while I show off the stuff that I've been doing for a while now.

:iconheheplz:

...my God, that plz is scary.

Yeah, read away! And while you're at it, give me feedback on my writing! Think of it as my way of asking for critique on how I write. Take note this is also from a journalistic standpoint, so it would be very nice if you could give points on that side too. I don't see a lot of journalist types here on DA. It'd be cool if a few of you revealed yourselves to be such.

Ciao for now! :)

On another note I've watched the super-duper extended plus plus cut of Advent Children (COMPLETE COMPLETE), and man, it just blows the synapses away. The added scenes make the plot SO MUCH LESS murky! And it came with the preview of Final Fantasy 13. My goodness, the visuals are sexy.

I AM A JOURNALIST!

...sort of. Still free lancing but I'm a certified "campus journalist", which doesn't really mean anything. Not at all. But I've written for Philippine Star. :/

I really liked the hotel 626 article, I love the 'commentary' format, and had plenty of lawls :D Was that article assigned to you or something you proposed yourself? Sounds like a fun job if you get to do that kind of writing!

And wait what extended Advent Children?? So the one that I have from Christmas last year is incomplete? I feel so gypped D:<

Ooooo I almost ALMOST got Lady Gaga's CD last saturday. Been trying to be good with me money, but got PiNK's instead. Still....next month....Ohhohohoho!

Also, I think it's neat you at least admit that its normal to be a bit burned out from drawing and that you can even manage the balance betwixt writing and drawing. :)

If you noticed this notice, you'll notice this notice isn't really worth noticing.

It's really funny how I got that assignment. My editor and her writer were having a chat, and the writer asked if I'd visited Hotel 626. My eyes go wide and I say, "Oh shit." At that point my editor points to me and says, "Do it."

:XD:

I also propose other stories, like the Globetrotters and SF IV tourney. My editor asks me to write more stuff, so I come up with as many good ideas as I can!

Yeah, Advent Children COMPLETE on Blu Ray. My friend brought it over to our other friends' house last weekend, and had a Mecca-Pilgrimage type of experience watching that whole thing :XD: As for the one you got, well, does it claim to have "added scenes"? If it doesn't, well... yeah =P

I meant in my case. They rarely give me anything "journalistic" to write. I mostly do the feature stuff, which are mostly poems and fiction in prose. XD

I've written for their Saturday (or is it Sunday? *memory fails*) only lifestyle add-on even before they became contributor friendly. *gigglesnort at own terms*
